Be A Light in the Dark

The B&W Project
Week 2/26: Macro
#BWProject26 | +Tisha Montgomery+Brandon Luk+Lauri Novak, & +Alison Christensen

For this week's project theme I chose to shoot flowers. Why? Well, it's been a while since I've done so, and there is nothing like shooting flowers on a cold, dreary day to help lift your spirits. But really, flowers make the most perfect macro subjects. There is so much detail to capture in each and every one of them. It's macro heaven!

I really wanted to choose a flower that would give me that bright white against a stark black background after converting to B&W, and yellows seem to do so well at just that. I wanted to portray in my shot, my emotions of late. The feeling of being surrounded by darkness, and all you can do it try to be a light. Yeah, that's easier said than done sometimes, but if we all give it a try, eventually it will be the dark struggling to find it's way through all that awesome light. Right?
